Professional Networking
ELITE librarians create personal learning networks (PLNs) to stay informed about the latest developments related to school librarianship. They connect with other professionals by using various Web 2.0 technologies. They are active participants who contribute regularly to the evolving body of knowledge in our profession. We will use the following social networking technologies to begin to develop our ELITE PLNs.

- Create a wikispaces profile in this wiki
- Use this wiki to post your full directory contact information and to participate in the program, as directed

Date TBA - Project ELITE ning
- Create a profile
- Post a reply to the "Introductions" forum discussion
- Use this ning to connect to other ELITE librarians and to participate in the program, as directed

Date TBA - iGoogle
- Create a gmail account
- Add your gmail account to the ELITE Librarians Directory
- Add RSS feed info here and aggregrate at least eight library-related feeds

Date TBA - Wordpress
- Create a blog account at http://www.wordpress.com
- Follow the directions on the Journal page of this wiki

Date TBA - Delicious
- Create a Delicious account to manage and share your favorite websites
- Add leperez1 and other ELITE librarians to your network
- Subscribe to the tag "projectelite" and tag sites of interest with this tag, so others can find your favorite websites.
- Subscribe to other tags of interest and/or create tags of use for your school.
- Add at least 10 favorite websites during the course of this project.

Date TBA - Facebook
- Create a profile and select desired privacy levels
- Join the group "Chicago Public Schools Dept of Libraries & Information Services" and other desired groups
- Friend Lisa Perez and other members of the Project ELITE cohort
- Join other groups, such as SIGMS, ISTE, and AASL
- Explore making other potential friends, such as favorite authors
- Commit to logging into FB at least twice a week to get information from your new professional learning network
- Commit to writing at least one post a week to share information you have gained from your research and/or experiences

Date TBA - Flickr
- Create a Flickr account
- Create a profile
- Add leperez1 as a contact (http://www.flickr.com/photos/leperez1)
- List the URL of your photostream at the ELITE Librarians Directory
- Follow the photostreams of other ELITE librarians
- Add at least 10 photos related to your work in Project ELITE during this course of this project. Follow Creative Commons Licensing. Adhere to the CPS Acceptable Use Policies.

TBA - Twitter
- Create a twitter account, if you do not have one already
- List your twitter handle at this wiki at the ELITE Librarians Directory.
- Follow Lisa Perez @ leperez1, AASL @ aasl, ISTE SIGMS @ sigms, and other desired groups
- Commit to logging into Twitter at least twice a week to get information from your new professional learning network
- Commit to tweeting a post at least once a week to share information you have gained from your research and/or experiences

- Reply to a discussion question monthly or more often
